OKC takes over #1 on Power Rankings

NBA.com #1 (last week: 2): In the Thunder’s three signature wins over the last eight days, against three teams in the top 10 defensively, Kevin Durant shot 55 percent, including a ridiculous 7-for-9 from 3-point range. The Heat, Lakers and Bulls are all pretty good offensively, too, so maybe most important is that the Thunder got stops

ESPN.COM #1 (last week: 2): he Thunder actually lost five games in March — after just seven Ls in December, January and February combined — but that doesn’t seem to matter much now that they’ve (A) toppled the Heat, Lakers and Bulls by a combined 39 points in the space of seven days and (B) improved to 6-0 in the Derek Fisher era.

SBNation.com #1 (Last week: 2): All due clapping in OKC’s general direction is warranted. The Bulls have been good enough without Derrick Rose that any victory over Chicago is worthy of applause. But the grind isn’t quite over for the Thunder: the next two games come against those nasty Grizzlies and a rematch with the Heat in Miami.

NBC.com #1 (Last week: 2): They beat the Heat, Bulls and Lakers in the last 8 days. Any other questions? Big test again this week as they get a rematch with the Heat, but I think the questions about who is coming out of the West have been answered.

FoxSports.com #1 (Last week: 3) Win over Miami latest example that Thunder capable of beating anybody at any time. And Russell Westbrook didn’t even play that well.

USAToday.com #1 (Last week: 2) With games vs. the Lakers on Thursday, Bulls, Grizzlies, Heat and Pacers in succession in the next week, Oklahoma City can solidify itself as the top team in the NBA

Hoopsworld.com #1 (Last week: 2) At some point in the playoffs, Derek Fisher is going to hit a big-time shot for the Thunder. It’s inevitable.

Newsday.com #1 (Last week: 1) Thunder run their winning streak to six games, each coming by at least nine points. Russell Westbrook had a huge March, averaging 26.6 points on 49.2 percent shooting
