Here it goes, a huge deciding factor, winner goes up 2-1 and needs to just win 2 of the final 4 games to reach the NBA Finals. However, doing so will be tough. The Beard Dominates, Thunder Win! 106-100.

First six minutes of the game, Thunder fans were scratching their heads, trailling 21-11. Dallas was running up and down the court, and all of a sudden James Harden and Kevin Durant turned up the heat. Next thing you know the dunk above, led to a 40-35 lead. Dirk Nowitzki had 48 points on just 15 shots, becoming the first player to score 48 or more points on that limited of shots. He also set an NBA record for most consecutive free throws in a game, hitting 24 of 24 from the charity stripe, breaking Paul Pierce’s record of 21 consecutive of 21.

Kevin Durant kept the Thunder in it throughout, trailing by as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter, totaling up for 40 points. Durant went 10-18 for 40 points. Leading his team down the stretch, but was not able to help the Thunder get the stop they needed late in the fourth quarter. Might have been the quietest 40 points in NBA history.

It’s here. Game 1. Thunder-Mavericks series should be a doozie. A lot of analyst have the Mavericks in 6 games. Which, is understandable. Oklahoma City is a young, inexperienced team. The Mavericks are the veteran savvy team. It’s only suitable that you go through a step by step process to get to the Finals. Thunder have skipped a step. They made it to the Western Conference Finals.

Mavericks haven’t played in 10 days. They’ll be ready. They’re tired of playing against each other. Thunder, trying to rest up after a grueling seven game series. Who’ll benefit more from the rest? Mavericks were hot in their last game, hitting 20-32 three point shots in a game 4 murdering of the Lakers. With 10 days between games, will they lose their stroke? I hope so.

Western Conference Final Preview

Dallas Mavericks versus the Oklahoma City Thunder for a right to the NBA Finals.

Wait, that doesn’t sound right, does it? Well, that’s what we have on our hands. No one could have predicted this. Not with a 60 win Spurs team and the two time defending champions, the Los Angeles Lakers still alive in the playoffs. However, as the second round settled down in the Western Conference, both were gone. Spurs in the first round and the Lakers imploded on the national stage, getting swept by the aforementioned, Mavericks.

Thunder win 105-90, Take Series

The Thunder brought the power and finesse we have been looking for all series long. We kept a lead. We made the lead grow. It was wonderful. Kevin Durant had 39 points on 25 shots. Russell Westbrook had only the fifth triple-double in Game 7 history. Not to mention, NICK COLLISON played phenomenal. His box score is not always that pretty. He finished with 8 points, 12 rebounds and a smooth +26.

Game 7 keys

Game 7 is here. Hard to think of what could have happened if the Thunder didn’t blow a couple of leads. We wouldn’t even be here. However, the resiliency of the Memphis Grizzlies and their will to not quit has willed their way to this spot.  Does Kevin Durant allow himself to go out at home again or does he lead his team onto the Western Conference Finals?

Kevin Durant will be okay

Kevin Durant had a bad shooting night for the first time in forever. Thunder nation seems to be up in arms and worried about game 7.  Fear not my Thunder readers. Kevin Durant will be fine for game 7. Well, that is if you believe stats don’t lie. I was curious on how Kevin followed up a sub 20 point game. What I have found will definitely ease your pain.

Grizzlies win 95-83, even series 3-3

The Oklahoma City Thunder blew a 10 point halftime lead, losing to the Memphis Grizzlies. With the loss, the Grizzlies force a game 7. Grizzlies were dominate on both sides of the ball in the second half, yet the Thunder weren’t out of the game until late fourth quarter.

Kevin Durant shot poorly for the first time in what seems like forever. KD went just 3-14 from the field, finishing with just 11 points. Russell Westbrook had a solid game 11-22 shooting for 27 points. Oklahoma City scored just 29 second half points in what could be considered another second half meltdown.
