West

1. Houston vs. 8. Minnesota

Marshall Clayton: Houston in 5
Erik Gee: Houston in 5
Autumn Mathews: Houston in 5
Parker Burnett: Rockets in 4
Chuck Chaney: Rockets in 4
Lauren Southerland: Rockets in 5
Ross Lovelace: Rockets in 7

Parker: Houston has been the best team in the Association this season. The Timberwolves limped into the playoffs after Jimmy Butler’s injury. Now that the Timberwolves are healthy again, this is an interesting match up. With that said, Houston wins this one easily.

Marshall: Oklahoma City in 6
Erik: Oklahoma City in 6
Autumn: Oklahoma City in 6
Parker: Oklahoma City in 6
Chuck: Oklahoma City in 7
Lauren: Oklahoma City in 6
Ross: Oklahoma City in 5

Marshall: Utah’s defense along with Gobert gives Thunder early struggles, but PG is the X factor. His outside shooting along with Adams bullying down low will be key.

  • Oklahoma City in 5 (31%, 86 Votes)
  • Oklahoma City in 4 (5%, 14 Votes)

Marshall: Golden State in 4
Erik: Golden State in 5
Autumn: Golden State in 4
Parker: Golden State in 4
Chuck: Golden State in 6
Lauren: Golden State in 6
Ross: Golden State in 5

Autumn: Do I really need an explanation for this one? Sure, Pop will try his best, but barring a miraculous return by Kawhi, the Spurs would be lucky to even steal one game.

You decide:

2. Golden State v. 7. San Antonio

  • Golden State in 4 (24%, 37 Votes)
  • Golden State in 5 (23%, 36 Votes)
  • Golden State in 6 (23%, 36 Votes)

3. Portland vs. 6. New Orleans

Marshall: New Orleans in 7
Erik: Portland in 5
Autumn: New Orleans in 7
Parker: Portland in 6
Chuck: New Orleans in 6
Lauren: Portland in 5
Ross: Portland in 6

Chuck: While Dame and CJ are one of the best back court combinations, their answer for Anthony Davis is still blank. In the two games where AD has played vs. Portland, he’s averaging 36.0 points per game. Alvin Gentry has quietly built one of the better defensive teams in the league. I really wanted to pick NOLA in 7 but I can’t see them winning a Game 7 on the road.

You decide:

3. Portland v. 6. New Orleans

  • Portland in 6 (36%, 54 Votes)
  • Portland in 7 (26%, 39 Votes)
  • New Orleans in 6 (16%, 24 Votes)
  • New Orleans in 7 (13%, 19 Votes)
  • Portland in 5 (10%, 15 Votes)
  • Portland in 4 (0%, 0 Votes)
  • New Orleans in 4 (0%, 0 Votes)
  • New Orleans in 5 (0%, 0 Votes)

1.Toronto vs. 8. Washington

Marshall: Toronto in 5
Erik: Toronto in 5
Autumn: Toronto in 5
Parker: Toronto in 6
Chuck: Toronto in 7
Lauren: Toronto in 5
Ross: Toronto in 5

Parker: This Toronto squad seems different than years past. They have arguably the best bench in basketball and that makes them one of the more complete teams in the league. John Wall is back for Washington, which means the Wizards could have the two best players on the floor on any given night. Still, Raptors are too good this year.

You make the pick:

1. Toronto v. 8. Washington

  • Toronto in 6 (39%, 51 Votes)
  • Toronto in 5 (37%, 48 Votes)
  • Toronto in 7 (12%, 15 Votes)
  • Toronto in 4 (10%, 13 Votes)
  • Washington in 6 (2%, 3 Votes)
  • Washington in 4 (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Washington in 5 (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Washington in 7 (0%, 0 Votes)

4. Cleveland vs. 5. Indiana

Marshall: Cleveland in 5
Erik: Cleveland in 5
Autumn: Cleveland in 6
Parker: Cleveland in 6
Chuck: Cleveland in 6
Lauren: Cleveland in 6
Ross: Cleveland in 5

Chuck: I don’t think you know how bad I wanted to pick Indiana. It has nothing to do with Cleveland being “better than” Indiana. LeBron James is the best player in the world, so picking against him in the first round is a stupid decision.

You decide:

4. Cleveland v. 5. Indiana

  • Cleveland in 6 (45%, 54 Votes)
  • Cleveland in 5 (35%, 42 Votes)
  • Cleveland in 4 (8%, 9 Votes)
  • Cleveland in 7 (5%, 6 Votes)
  • Indiana in 6 (4%, 5 Votes)
  • Indiana in 7 (3%, 3 Votes)
  • Indiana in 4 (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Indiana in 5 (0%, 0 Votes)

3. Philadelphia vs. 6. Miami

Marshall: Philadephia in 5
Erik: Philadephia in 6
Autumn: Philadephia in 6
Parker: Philadephia in 5
Chuck: Philadephia in 4
Lauren: Philadelphia in 4
Ross: Philadelphia in 6

Autumn: Miami and Philadelphia are both super fun teams to watch, so this should be an entertaining series. Hopefully we’ll get some more Embiid-Whiteside beef along the way, but the Sixers just have too much talent to lose this one.
You decide:

3. Philadelphia v. 6. Miami

  • Philadelphia in 5 (34%, 42 Votes)
  • Philadelphia in 6 (34%, 42 Votes)
  • Philadelphia in 4 (12%, 15 Votes)
  • Miami in 7 (10%, 12 Votes)
  • Philadelphia in 7 (6%, 7 Votes)
  • Miami in 6 (3%, 4 Votes)
  • Miami in 4 (0%, 0 Votes)

Marshall: Milwaukee in 6
Erik: Boston in 5
Autumn: Boston 7
Parker: Milwaukee in 7
Chuck: Milwaukee in 6
Lauren: Milwaukee in 7
Ross: Boston in 7

Marshall:  Celtics have been one of the best teams all season long, but no Kyrie pretty much sums this up. Playoff Giannis will be a sight to see.

You decide:

2. Boston v. 7. Milwaukee

  • Boston in 6 (26%, 33 Votes)
  • Milwaukee in 6 (26%, 33 Votes)
  • Boston in 7 (21%, 27 Votes)
  • Milwaukee in 7 (21%, 27 Votes)
  • Boston in 5 (3%, 4 Votes)
