Andre Roberson missed the entire second half in the win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. At the time, Thunder head coach Billy Donovan said Roberson could’ve returned but decided to hold him out.
On Friday, the Thunder two-way guard did not participate in practice and will probably miss tonight’s game against the Phoenix Suns.
Donovan stated It has more about resting his (left) knee with the minutes he’s been playing.
It also may help that Oklahoma City is playing the Suns who have lost 13 straight games and 15 of their last 16 contests.
In his fourth season out of the University of Colorado, Roberson has become a premier perimeter defender in the league. He’s averaging 6.7 points per game, a career high, on 46.4 percent shooting.
Roberson has missed a handful of games throughout his career due to injury. He missed 12 games last year with an ankle injury. This is his first time missing this season.
Alex Abrines who is recovering from a knee sprain is also out tonight.
Donovan did not say who will start in place of Roberson but did say it’ll be Semaj Christon or Doug McDermott.
Oklahoma City is scheduled for a 9 p.m. tip-off tonight and are 2-1 against Phoenix. Though, they did lose in their last trip to the desert 118-111 on March 3.We invite you to follow Thunder Digest on Twitter and like Thunder Digest on Facebook. Don't forget to subsribe on Youtube!
