Durant drops 63 in Seattle Pro-Am Game

Kevin Durant took part in Jamal Crawford’s new Seattle Pro-Am on Sunday. It was his first return to Seattle, basketball-wise, since Clay Bennett packed up the franchise and moved them to Oklahoma City.

All Durant did was drop 63 points.

3,000 people packed into Royal Brougham Pavilion on the campus of Seattle Pacific University to watch Durant do his thing. Only took him 62 shots in 50 game minutes.

Durant reached out to Crawford to try and figure out a way to make an appearance. A summer of waiting finally came to fruition Sunday as 3,000 fans packed a small-college gym to see Durant, Crawford and other NBA players put on a show.

“He reached out to me to come perform before in front of you guys,” Crawford told the crowd at SPU. “He loves Seattle. He took his own jet. He spent a lot of money to come up here and perform in front of you guys.”

This was not one of Durant’s better shooting performances. He made just 26-of-62 shots, including many dunks. However, he was only 8-of-32 from 3-point range. He missed a baseline jumper at the end of regulation that forced overtime where KD’s team fell 147-141.

Durant’s 63 points is just another fantastic game in line of great summer league blowouts for the super star. He dropped 66 at Rucker Park a few seasons ago, and did a number on the players during a Drew League game this season.

It gives Thunder fans a tiny glimpse of how a great player, and continues to leave us wanting more. I’m sure a lot of fans would pay money to watch Durant do his dirty work on the internet. Durant isn’t scheduled to appear in the league again.
