The Thunder did exactly what they needed last night against Houston, they took care of business. Wasn’t very flashy even though they led big throughout. They did it professionally, and like clock work.

Houston, however, is not the same team at home. They know how to win at home. They’re 2-0 at home, with wins over San Antonio and Atlanta. They win by an average of 100-85. So, they can play defense and score points while at home.

That said, Oklahoma City was able to rest their starters last night. That was key. Kevin Durant played 28 minutes, but that was the most by any starter for the Thunder. With two more games in two days, it’s so key for the minutes to be watched.

Looks like Kyle Lowry won’t play Goran Dragic will start in his place for the Houston Rockets. All Thunder players should be available for OKC.

Keys to the game

Kevin Martin
Martin is the best scorer for the Rockets and they really shut him down last night. He sparks this team on offense, and if OKC wants to win this one in blow out fashion again, need to keep him down. Martin was 4-9 for just 13 points. That’s a real credit to James Harden and Thabo Sefolosha.

Three Point Shooting
OKC shot over 40% last night, and it was key in the putting the lead up big. Harden was just fantastic from deep. Daequan Cook finally hit a three. He just had to take off his goggles to do it. However, KD, Russell Westbrook and Thabo went a combined 0-4. OKC was 6-10 without those players. However, expect Thabo and KD to shoot better from deep this game.

Minutes
San Antonio is a good team, they’re 5-2 going into tonight’s game against the Nuggets. Oklahoma City needs to find a way to put this game away early so they can be well rested for a tough battle tomorrow night. I know, I know I shouldn’t be looking forward. However, still have to look to the next night’s legs.  However, this isn’t very key, just something to keep your eyes on.
