Kendrick Perkins lost some weight. He’s lean and mean. Perkins was up to 298 pounds after missing most of last season following knee surgery, and he had hoped to get down to 275 for training camp. He ended up losing more during the extended off season and reported at 267 pounds, looking like an entirely different player. (cont…)
Serge Ibaka enjoyed his time in Spain. He played two seasons in Spain before entering the N.B.A. and still has a residence in Barcelona. So it was natural that he returned to Spain to stay in shape during the lockout. Ibaka said he needed to earn money to provide for his 17 siblings, and his Real Madrid paycheck was comparable to his N.B.A. salary. (cont…)
Mayberry says Reggie Jackson has to learn quickly. The 149-day NBA lockout cost rookies like Jackson both important playing time when summer leagues were canceled and invaluable professional training when the annual rookie transition program was wiped out. Coming into camp, Jackson was faced with only eight days of practices before the team’s dress rehearsals began on Dec. 18 — and there are only two of those. (cont…)
As been reported, the charges against Perkins, have been dropped. But after speaking to the media for first time this season Sunday, Perkins told The Oklahoman he has been exonerated of an arrest and charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. (cont…)
