Coming off a disappointing home performance, the Oklahoma City Thunder really have their backs against the wall. Win and they go back to Dallas tied 2-2. Lose, go back to Dallas down 3-1 and facing elimination. What will come of this? Will the Thunder respond with the vigor that we’ve known them to after losses? OKC is 26-6 following a lost. Haven’t lost back-to-back games since back-to-back road losses to the Trailblazers and Clippers on April 1st and 2nd.

Kevin Durant was seen as chippy, a bit angry as reporters interviewed him on Sunday as he prepared for game 4.

“Just ready to play, man.” KD said.

You’ll hear this every game from here on out, This is the biggest game in Thunder history. So, these are the keys to winning the biggest Thunder game.

Hot Start: Oklahoma City has lost 11 of 15 quarters in the playoffs.

These are the four first quarter victories:

  • Game 1 at Dallas (121-112 Loss)
  • Game 2 vs. Denver (106-89 win)
  • Game 2 vs. Memphis (111-102 win)
  • Game 7 vs. Memphis (105-90 win)

So, win the Thunder win the first quarter, their chance of victory improves astronomically.

Three Point Shooting: 1-17. Let that resonate for a second. That’s the second worst three point shooting game in the HISTORY of the NBA playoffs. We have to hit our three point shots.  Thunder have been playing great defense past couple of games on the perimeter. Dallas is just shooting 33% past two games from three point land.

Be Aggressive: Thunder were great at getting to the line in Game 3, shot 36 free throws. Must continue to be aggressive and get to the line. The shots have to fall. They haven’t been, they will fall at some point hopefully. That’s all you can do is hope that they fall. Because missing the shots we missed in Game 3 isn’t a thing that happens in multiple games. Cannot just stand around on offense.

Here is a great view on the stale offense of the Thunder in Game 3. We cannot repeat this. If we do, we will surely lose.

If we hit our shots I think we win this game. That first quarter was just too much to over come in Game 3. Must come out with more fire and passion in the third quarter.
